The FotodioX Pro Canon FD/FL – EOS adapter is a must own for canon eos shooters who own cano FD glass. I own a canon FD 50mm Macro S.S.C as well as a Canon FD 100mm S.S.C so these are two lenses i wanted to test out on my Canon 1DX. FotodioX Pro was kind enough to let me borrow the adapter to test out.

User Experience:
Using the Fotodiox Pro Canon FD to EOS adapter with my Canon 1DX and vintage Canon FD lenses was a unique experience. I tested it with the 50mm Macro SSC and 100mm SSC lenses, capturing detailed botanical shots. The adapter securely locked the lenses in place, though adjusting the manual aperture ring took some getting used to. Thanks to the built-in optical glass, I was able to achieve infinity focus, but there was a slight loss in sharpness compared to a native EF lens. The bokeh rendering from the FD lenses remained beautiful, with a soft, vintage character that modern lenses often lack. Overall, this adapter is a great way to breathe new life into classic FD lenses, though some minor optical trade-offs are expected.
