After winning the Fotopro X-Go Mini 2 in a Valentine’s Day competition last year, I had the chance to put it through its paces—and I didn’t hold back in my review. I forwarded that review to Fotopro and was lucky enough that Fotopro reached out and invited me to collaborate on a follow-up review for their X-Go Plus E 2, a full-sized carbon fiber tripod designed for creators who need stability without sacrificing portability.
This post is the result of that collaboration. While the tripod was provided for review, all opinions are my own—based on real-world use in both studio and field environments. If you’re looking for a tripod that can handle mobile setups, DSLR rigs, and everything in between, you’re in the right place.
Build Quality:
The X-Go Plus E2 strikes a solid balance between lightweight portability and rugged durability. Constructed from carbon fiber, it feels sturdy without being cumbersome — ideal for travel photographers and mobile creators. The leg locks are twist-style, which offer a secure grip and quick deployment. During testing, they held firm even on uneven terrain, with no signs of slippage or flex.
The ball head is surprisingly smooth for a tripod in this price range. It supports fluid panning and precise angle adjustments, making it suitable for both still photography and video work. The quick-release plate clicks in confidently and detaches without fuss, which is a small but crucial detail for fast-paced shoots.
One standout feature is the detachable monopod. It’s not just a gimmick — it’s genuinely useful for situations where space is tight or mobility is key. The conversion process is intuitive, and the monopod itself feels just as solid as the tripod legs. I love the bag you get with this Tripod, The included carrying bag is made from lightweight nylon with a water-resistant coating, offering basic protection against light rain and dust. While it’s compact and easy to sling over a shoulder, the padding is minimal — so it’s best suited for casual transport rather than rugged travel.
User Experience:
Setup is quick and intuitive, with smooth leg deployment and a responsive ball head that makes angle adjustments easy. The tripod stays stable with a mirrorless setup, and its compact size and lightweight build make it ideal for travel. The detachable monopod adds versatility, while the included nylon bag offers basic protection for casual transport.

The Lens Hooche Verdict
The Fotopro X-Go Plus E2 punches well above its weight for a travel-friendly tripod. With solid carbon fiber construction, a smooth ball head, and a versatile detachable monopod, it’s a reliable companion for creators who need performance without bulk. While the included bag could use more padding, the overall value and functionality make this tripod a smart pick for photographers and videographers on the go. I used both my Canon 1DX and Sony A7CII (Sigma 16-28mm) with his tripod and had zero issues with the tripod being able to sustain the weight. Fotopro mentions that you can easily mount a 70-200mm lens on this tripod and i will test once i get my hands on one so keep an eye on an edit on this post.
