Back in mid 2022 i started my web design company and needed to market my business (Maraguz Web Designs) through as many mediums as I could find.

To spread the word, I jumped onto YouTube with my trusty Sony A7C II and Sigma 16-28mm lens to show off what I can do. But when it came to photography, I didn’t want to empty my wallet on pricey lenses without really knowing my stuff or knowing if there were good options out there that didn’t hurt my bank account.

So, I dived into the world of cool, old-school lenses that don’t cost an arm and a leg. I spent hours watching YouTube videos about vintage lenses and ended up grabbing my first m42 mount Helios 44-2 Lens (yep, the Batman Lens). I also snagged a Canon 5D Mark II with adapters, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Now, I’m rounding out my Helios set and have a bunch of Minolta, Canon FD/FL, and Nikon lenses to test out. I’m all about sharing this journey with you. So, if you’re curious about these lenses and other budget gear buys in photography and videography and want to see if they’re a good fit for you, come along for the ride!
